In the mid 1800's a young Irishman would migrate to America in search of a better life. He would eventually have 7 sons, 6 of which went on to fight in the Civil War for the Confederacy. He didn't claim the 7th son as he was born of an encounter with one of his slaves, producing my great-great-great grandfather, Sam Kyle.
Growing up in the 70's, seeing the affects of the Civil rights movement, that story always hit me as ironic...but today, it just strengthens my resolve to lead with love. "I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. This is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant." - MLK circa 1964. Happy MLK Day and God Bless. 🙏🏾
