True Wisdom

As a young adult in my 20's, I used to sit and talk to my grandmother about a lot of things. I always thought I knew something; I would sit and say all kinds of things I thought were wise. Of course, years later I realized how wrong I was on so many things and how silly I was in stating my position to someone with so much earned wisdom...but then wondered why she didn't always correct me.

This past Saturday marked 20 years since her passing. Now that I'm older, have raised kids and am slightly wiser (just slightly), I now realize why she was so patient in simply listening, loving and letting life teach me certain lessons. She simply had a level of wisdom that I was entirely unfamiliar with. I wouldn't have listened, and she knew that...she just let me talk. Some things, life must teach you.

Thank you Nana...I understand now. Continue to rest in eternal peace. 🙏🏾
